How did you find out about PH360 and how long have you been going to classes?

“I joined last year at Thanksgiving. I found it by accident. I had just moved here from Houston and was trying to find my way around; where’s the freeway and the grocery store, etc.  I saw a sign that read, “POWER HOUR 360” and I decided to google search and find out what it was.”

What motivated you to get in and stay in shape?

“Before I moved here I was working full time and was a full-time grad student and taking care of the kids.  But, since we’ve moved here, I’ve only been working part-time and from home. So, my life has changed quite a bit, and now I have the time to work on myself and get back in shape.  I’ve always cared significantly about fitness, but it simply took a back burner to the craziness that was happening in my life for a couple of years. So, getting back into fitness has been a welcomed change.”

What is your favorite physical attribute about yourself?

This question was hard, and I had to think about it.  I’d have to say my abs.”

What would be harder to give up, sugar or salt? Coffee or alcohol?

“I think sugar; I have a thing for dark chocolate. And, coffee would be harder for me to give up than alcohol for sure! I usually have one cup in the morning and one after lunch. I’ve come to really enjoy it.”

What is something you've always wanted to do but have been too scared to try?

“I’ve been thinking about this question a lot because I’m not scared of much. I would have to say skydiving. I’m not scared of heights; I'm just scared of jumping out of the plane! Last year I tried the Stratosphere Hotel Sky Jump to see if I could deal with it. It was fine once I jumped. It’s the preparing for the actual jump that’s scary!”

If you could trade places with one person for a day who would it be and why?

“This is kind of sad. I lost my dad when I was 22. So, I would change places with him so that he could meet his grandchildren.  He would have loved them.”

What accomplishment are you proudest of?

Surviving 4-years of being a single parent. I started as a single parent and raised my son until he was five and then I got married. My son is now 9-years old, and my stepchildren are 9-years old and 12-years old. For anyone who’s been a single parent it has got to be the hardest job ever known.”

What is your favorite PH360 work out?

“I love the boxing!” I was always focused on cardio, and I thought that was the answer to everything. So, I like the PH360 combination of the running, rowing and the weights.  It has changed my body for sure!”

What’s special about PH360?

“It’s a great way to meet people and connect with others.  I’ve made a lot of friends, and I like the sense of community. Also, I would encourage people to try the nutrition program because it is a huge component that has made a difference in my body as well. I thought I knew everything about nutrition until I tried E.L.Y.T.”

WHAT POWERS YOU? (Motivates, inspires, ignites passion, etc.)

“The idea of being fit and healthy motivates me. My father died at the age of 59, so being healthy and teaching my kids to be healthy is significant to me. And, also trying to look fit because there were so many years when I wasn’t. I have an undergrad degree in exercise physiology, so I love being healthy and being asked to give fitness advice to others and teaching them to be healthy as well.”
